design works at every scale

While megaprojects like Shanghai Tower, CityCenter in Las Vegas, DIFC in Dubai, Tameer Towers in Abu Dhabi, and the L.A. LIVE Tower in Los Angeles attract media attention, the vast majority of our work is modest in scale—but not in quality or innovation! Nor does "big" always mean "tall." Our national and global retail rollout programs add up to "big," even if the increments are small and tailored for their locations. Mass
customization enables us to capture economies of scale while shaping the results to these widely different contexts. Even when we design singular projects, they benefit from our vast real-world experience. Design needs to work well at every scale.

"I didn't know you did that!" We often hear this from our clients. Two decades ago, they were surprised that we designed buildings. Now more than a few are amazed to hear that we do interiors! The range of our work is exceptionally broad—that comes with the territory of a global firm with so many valued clients. We believe strongly that our smallest work informs our largest, and vice versa. Behind all of it is our desire to improve performance. Our Workplace Performance Index® (WPI®) measurement and analysis tool for work settings, for example, has influenced the design of work settings large and small.
